Monserrat Arias, O.D.

Monserrat Arias, O.D. is an Optometrist and Contact Lens Specialist at Center for Sight in Fall River, Massachusetts. Dr. Arias provides comprehensive eye examinations for both routine vision and complex eye diseases and conditions, such as dry eye disease, glaucoma management and post-surgical care. She also manages contact lens fittings for all ages and lifestyles, including scleral lenses for keratoconus, extended wear soft lenses, and rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses.

Dr. Arias earned a dual degree as a Doctor of Optometry and Masters of Public Health from the Massachusetts College of Optometry where she received extensive training in primary care optometry as well as subspecialty clinics, including contact lenses, glaucoma and dry eye. She has completed an ocular disease externship in Miami with emphasis in co-management of cataract and retinal surgical cases, as well as an anterior segment disease externship at Boston Foundation for Sight where she specialized in scleral lens fittings for the management of ocular surface disease, and corneal dystrophies such as keratoconus. She completed her training at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center helping bridge language barriers and communities in need.

Born and raised in Ecuador, Dr. Arias studied German, English and Spanish, while volunteering in health care as she pursued her education. She moved to Boston after high school where she followed her passion for eye care and vision. Fluent in Spanish, and conversational in German, Dr. Arias has been practicing in Rhode Island for the past 4 years, and is now seeing patients in Fall River, where she looks forward to helping with any of your ocular health needs.

Dr. Arias enjoys spending time outdoors as well as cooking and trying new recipes in her free time.
