Kevin D. O'Brien, M.D.Kevin D. O’Brien, M.D. attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire prior to receiving his medical degree from Tufts University Medical School in Boston. He then practiced general medicine in the U.S. Public Health Service, and was commanding officer of their clinic in Portland, Maine. Subsequently, he completed his residency in eye surgery at the Albany Medical Center in New York. Dr. O’Brien came to Fall River in 1974. He opened an office in an old house on Hanover Street with two employees. This small beginning has grown to six doctors, two locations and over forty employees. Over the years, Dr. O’Brien has served as Chief of Ophthalmology at both Charlton Memorial Hospital and St. Anne’s Hospital, president of the medical staff at St. Anne’s Hospital, medical director of the East Bay Surgery Center, and is currently president of Center for Sight. During his career, Dr. O’Brien has performed thousands of state of the art phacoemulsification cataract surgeries as well as other operations. He now concentrates his efforts in the office caring for general eye problems including glaucoma, diabetes, routine exams, laser eye surgery, minor in office surgery, and acute care. Dr. O’Brien truly loves his work and treats every patient the way he would want to be treated himself. He believes that the patient will be best served if care is given with the same empathy and skill that he would want for his own family. |
