Greg Hofeldt, M.D. specializes in cataract surgery and oculoplastic surgery with a special interest in both surgical and non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Gregory T. Hofeldt was born in Portland, Oregon.  He attended the University of Oregon in Eugene where he majored in General Science and minored in Biology and Chemistry.  While at the University of Oregon, Dr.  Greg Hofeldt was active in research at the Institute of Neuroscience, culminating in several published abstracts and articles.  He received the Howard Hughes Research award and the Grass Foundation award for his achievements in the Neurosciences.  Upon graduation, he accepted a position as clinical research assistant at the New York University School of Medicine in the study of diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.  While at NYU, Dr. Gregory Hofeldt realized his passion for patient care, and moved upstate to Albany, New York to attend medical school at Albany Medical College.  He continued his postgraduate training at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he pursued an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology.  Dr. Greg Hofeldt then completed a subspecialty fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery with his mentor in Troy, NY.

Upon finishing his training, Dr. Hofeldt returned to his wife’s home state of Massachusetts to join Center for Sight.  He is committed to providing his patients with current, personalized, and uncompromising care.  Dr. Hofeldt practices both Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic Surgery, performing cataract surgery using modern techniques with state-of-the-art intraocular lenses.  His expertise in cosmetic surgical procedures includes upper and lower blepharoplasty (“eyelifts”) as well as upper face and mid-facelifts.  Dr. Hofeldt also removes eyelid and facial lesions.  Whether bothersome, benign, or malignant, he employs reconstructive plastic techniques to improve the patient’s post-surgical results.  Dr. Hofeldt also enjoys working with the patient to help rejuvenate facial features through non-invasive procedures using products such as Botox® and dermal fillers (CosmoDerm®, CosmoPlast®, Restylane® and JUVÉDERM™).  Dr. Hofeldt’s mission is to care for his patient with compassion, respect, and kindness.
