Edward Anderson, M.D.
Edward P. Andersen, M.D. is a general ophthalmologist, who has been in Woonsocket for thirty-five years. A graduate of Holy Cross College in 1960 and Boston University School of Medicine in 1964, he interned at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas from 1964 through 1965. He returned there to do his ophthalmology residency at Parkland and Southwestern Medical School from 1966 through 1971. In the intervening years, he was with the United States Navy one year as a battalion surgeon, with the marine corps in Vietnam, and two years as a general medical officer at Treasure Island Naval Station in San Francisco. Currently, Dr. Andersen continues to evaluate and treat a wide variety of eye diseases, including glaucoma, iritis and other disorders of the eyes and lids. His treatment is confined to the medical aspects of treatment, as he no longer performs surgery. |
